///I See London, I See France///But I See Only A Couple Flaws In This Book

Aren’t I so clever with my title? 😉 Anyway here’s my review. Next week we talk about how I suck at intros! (Just kidding that’s not actually going to be a post, but I could totally talk about that for a solid thousand words).

The book started off a little slow, but eventually sped up luckily. The plot was fun and light. It was definitely a good travel book. It did show realistic travel in some ways. Like traveling on a budget, being in gross bathrooms and running out of clean clothes. So it wasn’t all sunshine and rainbow travel quest. Still, makes me wish I was in Europe for the four weeks in the summer. *sigh* I want to go sight seeing so much now!

It was interesting how it showed mental illness in Sydney’s mother. I have no idea if it’s realistic or not, but for someone else who’s read the book and maybe has experience with mental health was this good a representation? It wasn’t a very big part of the story, but it did add a different aspect.

I did find the characters funny and entertaining and the friendship between Leela and Sydney at times was supportive and nice, but then it took a turn for the worse. I did not like Leela at the end. *(kinda) Spoiler Alert: Read the book and come back please :)* But my favorite parts in books are honestly when people call other people out on their bullshit. (Tells you something about me doesn’t it XD) So thank goodness Sydney came to her senses and yelled at Leela tbh.

Also the epic romance, and unapologetic flirting was all you could ever want in a summer fling. Jackson was very cute. He is your average bad boy at the start but does move past that.

I don’t honestly have much to say about this book. It was good and a fun light read, but not anything exceptional. I would recommend it if you are traveling or are just looking for a summer read to take you away from your boring life. *coughs*

I give it ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ and a half.
