Hey kids! It’s me!
First I would like to thank Parchment & Ink for tagging me in this! She is an awesome blogger so please go check out her blog!
Now without further ado the questions!
What genres, styles, and topics do you write about?
I tend to write historical fiction. I love books like Anne of Green Gables. I love a good coming of age story. Basically, if it’s bittersweet, makes you cry, and makes you think differently after reading it, I want to write it, (or read it. 🙂 )
How long have you been writing?
I was plagerising picture books to give to my parents when I was like six or seven. I remember basically rewriting the story Brown Bear Brown Bear What Do You See, and drawing my own picture to it. lol. #talent. But I also did a picture book about an angry turkey. This was what my mind was capable of back then. 😀 But I really started writing, when I was about 12 I think, I had a story idea I wanted to do, and just kind of started and then from that I started writing on Wattpad.
Why do you write?
I like to think it’s because I was born to write. But really, it’s because I have a lot of stuff I want to read, but I can’t find it so I just write it myself.
When is the best time to write?
I usually write in the evenings or late at night in my bed. I feel like it’s the best time because it’s the end of the day and I’ve done everything else and then I can just…write. Also, my brain just starts going crazy at that time. So naturally, I should try to write then of course.
What parts of writing do you love and hate?
I love, getting struck with inspiration for a scene and then making it happen, while furiously typing it out on my keyboard. I love planning the story, and then coming up with the ways to make it all connect in the end. I love getting lost in the work and using what’s happening in my real life to reflect on the page.
I hate when my main characters suck (for some reason this happens a lot to me?) I hate when I get lost in what the purpose of the story is and then I get stuck in boring connecting parts of the story… basically I hate whenever my story is boring…
How do you overcome writer’s block?
I usually take a break from writing, do some planning to come up with ways to spice it up again, and then go back at it, when I feel inspired again. The more pressure you put on yourself to write the harder it will, so just remember you’re writing for enjoyment. (and if you’re not and you’re actually an author well congratulations I am jealous of you for writing as a career)
Are you working on anything right now?
I’m on the second book of a series I’m writing. Honestly, I didn’t really finish the first book completely, I just need to finish out the whole story before I can edit the first, ya know? Ya dig? It may also be that I am incredibly lazy and I don’t feel like editing. But shhhh, I’m not going to tell people that, it’s because I need my creative energy to flow evenly. Totally.
But anyways the story is about a lady lumberjack and her life. Technically I’m doing Camp NaNoWriMo, but I really sucked at it because I missed the first part of the month because I was away, and then now it’s the end of the month and I’ve done very little on it. #whoops?
What are your writing goals this year?
Finish the second book, I’m writing. Go back and edit the first… edit the second. Then maybe rework an old book I wrote back in the good old days when I first started writing because I actually love the main character of that one (surprisingly enough).
So I’m too lazy to tag anyone. (if I had a dollar for everytime I said I was too lazy to do something on this blog, I might actually be making some money, instead of being broke, because I’m too lazy to work. 😉 )
So that’s me. I’m a writer, kind of. 😀 Tell me in the comments what your writing habits are and what you like to write.
